Good afternoon, all.  Some churchy things:

  • Social Ministry Committee is requesting donations for an asylum seeker who is sponsored by AUISP (Athens United Immigrant Support Project) and needs winter clothes. Mohamed is in his early 20's and especially needs winter boots, a winter jacket, warm gloves, a scarf, and hat or earmuffs. He wears size 9 shoe. His size is medium for socks, shirts or sweaters, a jacket, and pants for winter. For specific questions on what needs have already been met, please contact Anne Sparks as the office does not know.  If you have something to donate, please drop it off at the church during office hours. If you would like to donate money to help purchase some of these items, please make the check out to AUISP, write Mohamed on the Memo line, and send it to Anne Sparks at: 730 Robinette Ridge Rd., New Marshfield, OH 45766.   Thank you for your generosity!
  • Coffee Hour returns this Sunday, Nov. 14th at 11:30am on Zoom for a discussion centered around White Fragility.  Link is here.  All are welcome to come learn about this important topic: what it means and why it matters. 

Happening in our community:

  • Aresenic and Oldlace this Friday and Saturday evenings at 7pm at Athens High.  Pastor Chad is also the volunteer Drama Club Director at Athens High.  He and some super talented high schoolers are happy to offer this production to our community for two nights only.  Purchase tickets at the door ($10) or in advance by clicking here.  Please note, there is an additional fee for electronic tickets which is charged by the e-ticket vendor for using their platform.
